About

Fashion has been a love of mine for most of my life, all the way back to my early two/three year old memories of having certain favorite dresses and articles of clothing. Of course as most of us have, I got lost a little in the middle at what is dubbed the "awkward" stage of life. Truthfully, right after that stage, while I loved clothes, staring at dresses on the red carpets and running around the target women's section like a mad woman, I really never appreciated a certain style till I decided to go Preppy. Preppy, I think, was a far reach from what I had been wearing, and yet an easy reach for a New Englander (granted I've only lived in New England about a third of my life, but I still like to call myself a New Englander).

I suddenly became aware that outside of Target (not to dis target, I still love to shop there for clothes) there is a world of Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, and Lilly Pulitzer. While much of the time they are wildly out of my price range, (I am a college-aged, self-employed, small-business woman, after all, and money doesn't grow on trees), I still enjoy staring at stores, picking a small thing out here or there at full price. But what I also love is searching through the racks at Outlets and thrift stores. The fashion world is an expensive place, and I'm not afraid to admit, in fact I implore you, to keep in mind sales, clearance sections, and outlet malls! It's really satisfying to find a good deal on something you love!

Preppy isn't just a fashion idea, it's a life, it's a look, and believe you me my life isn't at all touch football, sail boat races, and polo matches, I tend to experience those sorts of things vicariously through other people on the internet, but I can't help but feel so blessed by God that I am able to live in such a beautiful place as New England, that every day feels like preppy, tiny town, bliss! It just never gets old!
